Where Modern Day Chemises Came From

Somewhere in between, a rich woman can wear a chunky chemise made with fine cloth, while a poor woman could only wear a chemise made out of rough pieces of rags and were skimpier.  Down the line of history, fusion of the skimpy cut and the fine fabric took place and the modern day chemise was born.  Today, chemise is a term used to refer to a sexy lingerie worn by women.  It can be made with fine fabrics such silk, satin, chiffon or other sheer fabrics.  Usually, for a more feminine and irresistible appeal chemises are embellished with lace trimmings, embroidery or ribbons . It is often confused with baby dolls, however it is not that hard to tell which one is a chemise.
